He was predeceased by: his brothers, Merlin and Keith Butikofer; and his sister-in-law Liz Butikofer. He is survived by: his wife Donna Butikofer of Cedar Rapids, IA; his children, Eric Butikofer (Charlotte) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Emily Strasen (Jim) of Robins, IA and Evonne Sabiiti (Eria) of Iowa City, IA; his grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew Butikofer, Lindsey and Laura Strasen; his siblings, Louise Johansen (Leo), Robert Butikofer (Kathy Juba) and Gary Butikofer (Cindy); and his sister-in-law Kathy Butikofer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Illyria Community Church (stained glass windows refurbishment), the St. Luke's Hospital Foundation, or the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
