She was predeceased by: her parents, J. D. Coan and Alberta Coan; her spouse Gar Grote (Valparaiso University); and her brother Robert Coan (Rose). She is survived by: her children, Christina Ryan (Mike) of Plymouth, MN, Lisa Sandquist (Shannon) of Colorado Springs, CO, Shelly Janssen (Dale) of Clarksville, IA and Corey Grote (Jenni) of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandchildren, Kimberly Stouffer (Nick), Kara Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Emily Marie Gassman (Mattias), Erik Sandquist (Kellyn), Naomi Teutschmann (James), Natalie Schaffer (Alex), Brady Janssen, Austin Janssen, Connor Grote and Rylie Grote; and her siblings, Barbara Pearson (George) of Valparaiso, IN and Richard Coan (Robin) of Naples, FL.. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
