It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lila Olmstead (Cedar, Iowa), born in Norway, Iowa, who passed away on July 23, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lila Olmstead to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Geiger and Wilhelmina Geiger (Haldy); her husband William Olmstead; her brother Henry; and her grandson Christopher Vikesland.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Vikesland (John) of Blacksburg, Wiletta "Lettie" Eckberg (Eric) of Rochester, Minnesota, William Olmstead, Jr. (Paula) of Loveland and Daniel Olmstead (Barb) of Center Point, Iowa; and her sister Evelyn "Sue" Olmstead of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amana Historical Society in Amana, Iowa.
