It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Mehring of Cedar, Iowa, who passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Mehring and Esmeralda Mehring (LaChaine); his son James Mehring; his grandsons, Micah and Joshua Mehring; his siblings, Marcel, Paul and Jeanine; and his sister-in-law Rose Bartosh.

He is survived by: his wife Vera Mehring; his children, David Mehring (Pam), Stephen Mehring (Melissa), Leon P. Mehring (Vicki) and Denise Vander Sanden (Jerry); his daughter-in-law Wilma Rodgers (Dan); and his siblings, LeRoy Mehring and Elaine Baum (Ralph Schmoldt). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
