It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn McWhinney of Cedar, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Regan and Kathryn Weinke Regan; her brothers, Robert, John and Jim Regan; and her sister-in-law Ginny Regan.
She is survived by: her husband Jon McWhinney; her children, Matthew (Anne) of Chicago, Mark (Sara) of Cedar Rapids, Michael (Patricia) of Jackson, WI and Molly (Craig) of Bettendorf, IA; her grandchildren, Amanda Skovronsky (Paul) of Dubuque, Lizzy Shuda (Danny) of Urbandale, Jessica of Bettendorf, Isabella of Jackson, WI and Jacob of Bettendorf; her great grandchild Ruby Kay; her sister-in-law Jane Regan; and her nephews, Paul and Mitch. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kay's memory may be directed to Community Health Free Clinic, St. Pius Church and Xavier, Cedar Rapids.
