It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne Newport (Cedar, Iowa), born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on October 28, 2018, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald Newport; her parents, Marie Emanuel (Blackford) and Lawrence Swecker; her sister Isabelle Bixby (Swecker); and her half-sister Nancy Swecker.
She is survived by: her half-siblings, Betsy Swecker and Terry Emanuel (Peg); her children, Diane Janda of Summerfield, FL, Larry Newport Kansas (Mary) and Tom Newport (Cedar); her grandchildren, Mindy Sorg (David), Jade Barta (Allison), Thad Newport (Katrina), Acacia Leatherman (Mike), Shelby Newport (Mark Baker) and Grant Newport; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Carlie, Landon Sorg, Mallory Newport and Emily Newport.
