She was predeceased by: her children, Vicki and Doug; her siblings, Bernice and Roy; her parents, Edgar Vangen and Mildred Vangen (Larson); and her husband Lee A. Ilten Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Pamela Strauss (Steve) of Cedar Rapids and Daniel Ilten (Suzanne) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and her siblings, Eileen, Eldeen and Roland. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
