He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Johannes and Luella Farr Johannes; his sons, Douglas Johannes and Travis Johannes; his siblings, Art, Homer, Cleo, Ralph, Glema Damerval, Verna Pence, Donna Newell, Bernice Zimmerman, Letha Moore and Marvel Jackson; and his grandson Dustin Johannes.
He is survived by: his daughter Kellie Temple (Bruce) of Eddyville; his wife Ruth Ann; and his children, DeOwen Johannes (Diane) of Des Moines, Kent Johannes (Lavonne) of Oskaloosa, Scott Johannes (Elizabeth) of Cedar, Kevin Temple (Tammie) of Arizona and Brenda Lanphier (Gary) of Oskaloosa. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
