It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delores Thurston Brown of Cedar, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Jim; and her parents, Carroll Hanshaw and Vera Elaine Hanshaw. She is survived by: her son Jim Thurston; her daughter-in-law Sherrie of Anamosa, Iowa; her granddaughters, Jennifer Thurston of Marion, IA and Sarah Geiter (Ryan) of Olathe, KS; her great grandchildren, Paighton and Gannon Geiter; her stepdaughters, Chris Glover and Coe Molumby (Denny) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her stepgrandchildren, Dan, Justin Molumby, Kay Jandik and Ken Jandik (Amber); her husband F. Wallace Brown (Wally); and her siblings, Carroll "Bud" Hanshaw, Violet Morlan (Bob), Bertha Long (Bob) and Yvonne Lakose (Dean). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren or the American Cancer Society.
