He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward and Leah Audrey Prout (Casey). He is survived by: his former wife Peggy Widener; his wife Marlene Aldridge; his siblings, Flora O'Malley, Lori Ellis and Brian Prout; his children, Charles Prout (Tina), Ed Prout (Dianna) and Heather Butler; his stepchildren, Kris Hartley (Keith), Karen Zahn (Darin) and Joe Price (Julie); and his grandchildren, Bailey, Connor, Lilly, Sam, Olivia, Noah, Brooke Ann, Johnathan, Jillian, Jessica, Kole and Karson.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Jones Regional Hospital, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa.
