It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn (Joan) Meek of Cedar, Iowa, born in Clarinda, Iowa, who passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Jones and Emeryl Griffey; her former husband James Thacker; her husband Bill Meek; her brother Ronnie Jones; her stepdaughter Diane Short-Meek (Jim); and her pets, Roxie and Herky.
She is survived by: her brothers, Lonnie Jones (Charlotte), Donnie Jones and Craig Gibbons (Judy); her daughters, Terri Schiller and Cindy Nykky; her stepchildren, Doug Meek (Patty), Rick Meek (Cindy), Rod Meek (Krystie) and Cindy Lee Ellsbury (Eric); and her grandchildren, Paige Pesko (Andrew), Hailee Schiller, Denise Albert (Greg), Corrie Schiller, James Nykky, Dalton Nykky, Caitlyn Nykky, Heather Graewe (Mike), Kris Meek, Luke, Sam Meek, Jessie Meek (Ryan), Amanda Bergmann (Charles), Billy Meek (Danielle), Jon Meek (Kala), Robert Short, Connor Ellsbury, Collin Ellsbury and Emma Ellsbury. She is also survived by great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
