He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leonilla Lake (Steger) and Al Lake; his wife Wilma Steffen; his children, Jeffrey, Andrew of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joseph (Leila Stortz) of Minneapolis, MN, Dr. Peter (Ulrike Kuhnle) of Madison, WI and Dr. MaryBeth (Joe Hasson) of Evanston, IL.; his grandchildren, Michaelen Sundstrom (Jared), Weston Lake of Minneapolis, MN, Alexandra Fox (Will) of Cincinnati, OH, Steffen Lake (Katherine) of Atlanta, GA, Caroline Lake, Annie and Charlie Hasson of Chicago, IL.; his sister JoAnn Auer; his nieces and nephews, Mary Tangemann (Mike), Diane (Hess), John Auer (Sandy), Dr. Linda Brown (David), Grace Heitman, Gloria Maxwell (Sean) and Dr. David Auer (Misty); his brother-in-law Dr. Dennis Steffen (Kay); his son Christopher; his brother-in-law Dr. George Auer; and his niece Lisa Hagan (Auer).
