He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Benedict Sr. and Mary C. Scherrmann; his brother George R. Benedict Jr.; his parents-in-law, Robert and Mary Kainer; and his brother-in-law Andy Kainer.
He is survived by: his wife Candace Benedict (Kainer); his children, Heather Cavalli (Mike), Alex Benedict (Erin) and Kellyanne Smith (Erik); his grandchildren, Tyler Cavalli (Aspen), Luke Cavalli (Cody), River Smith, Tatum Benedict, Charlett Smith and Bodie Smith; his sister Judy Francis; his sisters-in-law, Jane Benedict and Pam Foster (Mark); his nephews, Michael Benedict and Chris Francis (Suzy); his niece Debbie Lane (Dave); and his uncle Emmett Scherrmann (Ann). He is also survived by numerous cousins, in-laws and friends.
