He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Robert Meier (Connie) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ronald Meier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Rodney Meier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Denise Meier-Anderberg (Rodney) of Grand Mound, IA, Deborah Meier-Casper (John) of Redmond, Washington and Pamela Meier (Robert Kiefer) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his sister Marilyn Keister of Cedar Rapids, IA; his wife Dolores Meier; his parents, John Meier and Eldora Meier; his daughter Tamara Meier; his brothers, Wayne Meier and Bob Meier; his siblings-in-law, Donald Keister and Beverly Meier; and his grandson Josh Meier. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Special Assistance to Retired Boxers Fund (SARB).
