Virgil Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 5, 2024, at the age of 94, Virgil Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf L. Smith and Hulda Hilmer Smith; his former wife Norma L. Madden; his great grandchild Adam; and his siblings, Vaylord, Vernon, Berdella, Marva, Wynona, Leota, Ramona, Verona and Marvel.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gayle Kephart and Diana Ash (Barry); his wife Ann Jones; his son-in-law Barry; his grandchildren, Mark Ford (Kim), Jeff Ford (Mandi), Heather Ash and Matthew Ash (Kyla); and his great grandchildren, Frankie, Tabitha, Amy Ford, Kayle and Nathaniel Ford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Disabled American Veterans, in honor of his father who served in WWI.
