He was predeceased by: his in-laws, Carl and Angie Junttila. He is survived by: his parents, Charles Kacena and Stephanie Kacena (Munger) of Marion; his wife Judy Kacena of Cedar Rapids; his children, Samuel Kacena of Grand Chute, Wisconsin and Abigail Kacena of Cedar Rapids; his brother Kevin Kacena (Deb) of Vinton, Iowa; and his in-laws, Janet Johnson (Tom) of Lisle, Sharon Greenwood (Don) of Olathe, JoAnn Bracker (Steve) of Albert Lea, Bill Junttila (Anne Brunet) of Hancock and Patty Steitzer (Matt) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Scott's memory may be directed to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Special Olympics, or Linn Area Mountain Biking Association (LAMBA).
