He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gilson and Evelyn Gilson; and his stepson Carl. He is survived by: his wife Dixie; his children, Ron Jr. (Ashley) and Cheryl of Cedar Rapids; his stepchildren, Doreen, Sue (Vic) and Royce; and his sisters, Diane Nelson (Don) of Rochester, Peggy Dixon (Dennis) of Stone Lake and Michelle Gilson of La Crosse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
