He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lyle Carpenter and Anna Marie Carpenter (Nieland); his wife Kathleen Carpenter of Cedar Rapids; his children, Jennifer Rook of Cedar Rapids, Brian Carpenter of Swisher and Stephanie Montgomery (Jino) of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Dan Carpenter (Cindy) of Marion, Joan Rausch (Tony) of West Salem, Valerie Pecinovsky (Ron) of Protivin and Wanda Gordon (Vance) of Marion; his brother-in-law David Pierce; and his brother Steven Ray Carpenter. He was also cherished by five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
