He was predeceased by: his sisters, Karen Swanson and Judy Smith; his parents, Ernest Lanz and Rhoda Lanz (Saddoris); and his wife Josephine "Josie" M. Young.
He is survived by: his children, Tyrone Lanz (Elena) of Moline, Robert Lanz (Elaine) of Cedar Rapids, Cynthia Duncan (Donald) of Santa Fe, N. M. and James Lanz (Karen) of Littleton, Colo.; and his sister Phyllis Nelson of Lincoln, Nebr.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Salem United Methodist Church in Robert's name.
