With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert M Ruzicka Sr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on December 15, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandmother Sejnoha Ruzicka; his son Randi Ruzicka; his parents, Mathew Ruzicka (Rozy) and Mary Ruzicka; his siblings, Ronnie Ruzicka, Patricia Beer and Mary Lou Smejkal; his in-laws, Frank and Mary Michalec; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Ruzicka, Joni Miller, Patti Smith, Jerry Beer, Frank "Butch", Benny and Bernie Michalec.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Michalec Ruzicka; his children, Robert Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Pamela Stark (Chris) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Nick, Sam and Nicole; his siblings, Mike Ruzicka (Mary Henderson), Denny Ruzicka (Karan) and Mary Frances Michalec; his brothers-in-law, Alan Smejkal (Sybil Merfeld) of Cedar Rapids, Bob of Cedar Rapids, Mike of Cedar Rapids, Bill of Cedar Rapids and Phil Michalec of Cedar Rapids; his niece Elena Minor; his nephews, Max Kaiser and Kevin Kadlec; his brother Louie Sejnoha; his nephew Jeff; his friends, Jim Piersall and Bob Kazimour; and also Theresa.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Wenceslaus Church (1224 5th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Wenceslaus Church.
