He is survived by: his wife Constance "Connie" Butler of Cedar Rapids, IA; his children, Sally Hlubek (Brian) of Cedar Rapids, IA, John Kruse (Melissa) of Dubuque, IA and Joseph Kruse (Kate) of Helena, AL; his grandchildren, Ryan Kruse (Liz), Kelsey Kaiser (Geoffrey), Alex Kruse (Lauren), Allie Gawde (Swapnil), Carly Bix (Noah), Robby Hlubek, Jake Kruse, Cameron Kruse, Kyle Kruse and Brandon Kruse; his great grandchildren, Carver, Kai, Jett Kruse, Creighton, Beckett, Ambrose, Dorothy Kaiser, Fintan and Declan Kruse; his sister Patricia "Pat" Doerr (Bill) of Dubuque, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Lou Feipel (Larry), Marilyn Butler and Richard Butler (Sandy).
