Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Richard Ernst of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Sloan, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 88, on February 2, 2023. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ernst and Doris Ernst (Miquelon); his wife Sara Lee; and his siblings, Evonne Johnson, G. Dale Ernst and Ann Ernst.

He is survived by: his children, Joy Ernst (Mike Perkins), John Ernst and Jerry Ernst (Abbey); his grandchildren, Daniel Rowland, Aaron Rowland, Brandon Rowland, Jacob Ernst, Jonna Ernst, Gabriel Ernst, Harper Ernst, Josiah Ernst and Lyra Perkins; his great grandchild Iyla Rowland; and his brother Ron Ernst (Esther). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Hillside Wesleyan Church.
