It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Bascom of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Vinton, Iowa, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin and Mildred Davis; his daughter Cindy; his wife Shirley; and his siblings, Sarah, Bob, Fred, Harold and Kenneth.
He is survived by: his children, Gary (Kimberly), Teri, Rick, Vicki (Gary), Becky (Mark), Debbie, Jeff (Dawn), Shawn and Dixie (Chad); his stepchildren, Darcie and Willy; his siblings, Eugene and Ruth; his close friend Jean Leaf; and his friends, Joel, Laurie, Rory Sr., Rory Jr., Bob, Tanager Place and Donutland. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed in his memory to Tanager Place.
