He was predeceased by: his parents, John Winkler and Lottie Winkler (Reinhart); and his wife Patricia McClure. He is survived by: his children, John Winkler (Kim) of Cedar Rapids and Carrie Martin of Central City; and his grandchildren, Logan, Aubrey, Montana, Riggs and Jaxon.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
