He was predeceased by: his father William Courtney; his stepfather Wesley Novak; and his nephew Derek Gorden. He is survived by: his mother Kathleen Courtney (Novak); his wife Linda Courtney; his daughter Breann Sells (Jason); his siblings, Mike Courtney, John Novak (Molly), Judy Gorden (Lew) and Terri Biggs (Bill); and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Kriz, Josh Novak, Chris Novak, Lauren Novak, Heather Plathe and Britney Gorden.
