We bid farewell to Nanette Joens of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 15, 2024 at the age of 82. Nanette touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward S. Spiegel and Mildred D. Spiegel (Wagner); her husband Larry Joens; her son Bryan Joens; and her brothers, Kent (Kate) and Reed Spiegel.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Owen (Amy) of Cedar Rapids, Nick Owen of Wheat Ridge, CO., Andrew Owen (Kwyn) of Dubuque, Heidi Sanman (Mark) of Las Vegas and Brenda Everman (Steve) of Hampton; her grandchildren, Neal Owen (Valerie Brown), Rachel Sanman, Julia Sanman, Jenna Schlicher (Justice), Jordan Owen (Kaela), Katelyn Owen, Seth, Alyssa Owen, Kelli Joens, Lindsey Mabry (Jeronne), Nick Joens, Morgan Thurman (Andy) and Mason Everman (Mikayla); her great grandchildren, Shawn, Kyle, Trevor, Gabe, Grace Owen, Vincent, Imogen Thurman, Jett Schlicker, Taytum Everman and Kash Mabry; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Spiegel and Marlys Spiegel; and also Peggy Joens of Waterloo.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tower Park (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
