We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2025, at the age of 78, Michael Wright of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Sara Ann; his parents, Robert Wright and Enid Wright; his siblings, Beth McBride and Dennis Wright; and his brothers-in-law, John Robert Spahn, Jeff Spahn and Jay Jellison.
He is survived by: his children, Peter J. Wright of Milwaukee, WI and Margaret Ann Blaisdell (Jonathan) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Adelynn Ann and Lucas William; his brothers, Gary Wright (Joan) of Lake Elmo, MN and Randy Wright (Fatima) of El Cajon, CA; his in-laws, Doug McBride of Washington, IA, Winnie Wright of Marion, IA, Peg Corken of Bettendof, IA and Cathy Spahn of Dubuque, IA; and also, Mary Kay Jellison of Dubuque, IA, Amy Gutierrez (Willy) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jim Spahn (Terri) of Marion, IA, Joe Spahn (Lora) of Asbury, IA and Justin Spahn (Karen) of Glenwood, IA..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Pius X Church (4949 Council St NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Luke's Hospice (Cedar Rapids), the Freedom Foundation (Cedar Rapids), or the Beth McBride Memorial Scholarship (St. James School in Washington, IA).
