It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Viola Flanders of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Washington, Iowa, who passed away on October 14, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mary Viola departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary Viola may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary Viola leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Flanders; and her sons, Michael and Robert. She is survived by: her children, Thomas, David (Susan Ecroyd), James Flanders (Meredith) and Susan; and her daughter-in-law Mary Beth Flanders. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
