He was predeceased by: his son Mark Allen; and his father-in-law Richard Rath. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Noah Hines, Evan Hines, Eli Hines, Freyja Smith and Sansa Hines; his wife Debby Hines; and his children, Laura Smith (Toby), Jason Hines (Miranda) of Cedar Rapids and Kellie Stroud (Brian) of Des Moines. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
