With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Jane Oberreuter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Maquoketa, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2024 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Shanahan and Ellen Meehan Shanahan; her in-laws, Francis and Theresa Oberreuter; and her goddaughter Karen Maurer Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Oberreuter of Iowa City, John Oberreuter of Cedar Rapids and Sheila Oberreuter of McGregor; her siblings, Monica Maurer (Stephen), Ed Shanahan, Raymond Shanahan and David Shanahan (Pearl); and her husband Dennis Oberreuter. She is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or The Arc of East Central Iowa.
