He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vogl and Teresa Vogl (Shea); his parents-in-law, Arden and Fern Midtgaard; his granddaughter Vivianne Beadle; and his brothers-in-law, Mick Denniston and Russell Schubert.
He is survived by: his wife Vicky Lee Midtgaard; his children, Bonnie Benesh (Trent) of Walker, Charlie Vogl (Stephanie) of Marion, Billy Vogl (Nichole) of Cedar Rapids, DeeDee Tooley (Jake) of Chicago, Becca (Russell Klein) of Monticello and Jamie (Dan Silverman) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Levi, Liam, Leo Benesh, Leah Vogl, Bennett, Sienna Vogl, Calla Tooley and Milo Beadle; his siblings, Margie Pence (Bob) of Cedar Rapids, Kathy Denniston of Springfield, Susie Nicholson (Nick) of Louisville, Judy Hutchins (Gary) of Fort Myers, Mary Hanson (Ron) of Glenwood, Sally Johnsen (Scott) of Bloomingdale, Jim Vogl (Kate) of Plymouth, Annie Jeffries (Joe) of Cedar Rapids and Lisa Griffin (Griff) of Cedar Rapids; his siblings-in-law, Cindy Schubert of Britt, Connie Hallam (Mark) of Mankato, Minnesota and Arlyn Midtgaard (Lila) of Fertile; and his aunts, Alice Shea of Cedar Rapids, Mary Ann Steele of Marion and Karen Vogl of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Iowa Public Radio.
