He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Techau and Helen Techau (Gerber); and his siblings, Jack Techau, Nancy Techau and Donna Cusher.
He is survived by: his former spouse Beverly Maxson; his wife Jacqueline Hegwood; his children, Kevin Techau (Stephanie) of Cedar Rapids and Lisa Welsh (Patrick) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Maxson, Grace Techau, Jenna Jandik (Cody) and Shaun Welsh; his great grandchildren, Griffin and Breccan Jandik; his sister Linda Rasavong of Cedar Falls; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Cusher of Waterloo and Pat Small of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
