He was predeceased by: his parents, George Raymond and Dorothy "Mae" Goodell (Hayes); his siblings, Gene, Bill Goodell, Barb Mease and Mary Ronnenberg; his parents-in-law, Bill and Marge Travis; and his brothers-in-law, Cyril Reilly and Mike O'Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Goodell of Cedar Rapids; his children, Dan Goodell (Pam) of Shellsburg, DeDe Huebner (Pat) of Windsor, Deb Berns (Dave) of Atkins, Denise Kenney (Jim) of Scottsdale and David Goodell (Jessie) of Atkins, Iowa; his grandchildren, Candice, Tim, David, Alison, Abigail, Murphy, Emily, Bailey, Harrison and Lucie; his aunt Virginia Sayers of Phelan, California; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Goodell, Renee Reilly and Margie O'Connell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
