She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton R. Schuneman and June H. Schuneman (Higley); her brother Tom Schuneman; and her granddaughter Jet James. She is survived by: her children, Ian Ross James of Amherst, Massachusetts and Catherine "Katy" James De Porter (Mark) of Cedar Rapids; and her grandchildren, Lauren Gardner, Tyler Hilton and Waveland Sheffield James.
