She was predeceased by: her parents, Filomena Gamez and Manuel Castro; her son Rolando Gamez; her son-in-law Jose Aquino; and her siblings, Luisa Gamez, Eliceo Gamez and Justo Gamez.
She is survived by: her daughter Maria Castro of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Joseph Aquino (Alejandra) of Iowa City and Kimberly Hoffon (Austin) of North Liberty; and her great grandchild Mateo Hoffon.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New Life Community Church (1703 2nd St, Coralville, IA 52241). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at the Linwood Memorial Park (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).
