It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John B. Walters of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben R. Walters and Mae Louise Walters (Baily); his wife Ann Louise Walters; his sister Jane; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Schoner and Marjorie (Robert Straka).
He is survived by: his children, James Walters (Janet) of Lake Lure, Martha Booth (David) of Cedar Rapids, Thomas Walters (Susan) of LaValle and Mary Malcolm (Scott) of Wheaton, Illinois; his grandchild Drew Harper (Tonya); his great grandchildren, Connor and Lily; his grandsons, Greg Walters and Michael Walters (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Emmy and Annie; his granddaughter Sara Graverson (Chris); his great grandchildren, Collin and Cora; his grandson Eric Malcolm (Alexandra); his great grandchildren, Cody, Audrey, Kari, Alaina and Piper; his granddaughters, Kristin Malcolm and Karen Galica (Andy); his great grandchildren, Emma, Ava and Sarah; and his niece Anne Leland (Tim).
Memorials in Jack's memory may be directed to either First Presbyterian Church or Coe College, both in Cedar Rapids.
