With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joann Marie Smith in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Storm Lake, Iowa, who passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Lawrence and Elaine Lawrence; her children, Donald Joseph and Janet Rae; and her sister Janet Lawrence.

She is survived by: her husband Don; her sister Judy Lawrence Woods (Tom); her children, Jon Smith (Susie) of Rocklin, CA and Jennifer Smith of Urbandale, IA; her grandchildren, Cameron, Lexie and Zoe; and her great grandchild Jayce. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that friends donate memorials in JoAnn's name to Hope Lodge in Iowa City or Every Step Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
