In loving memory of Jerry Fehlhafer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who departed this world on January 23, 2025 at the age of 89. Jerry leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Trpkosh of Paul's Lutheran Church; his sisters, Lina Flender and Doris Sievers; and his parents, Verni Fehlhafer and LaVern Fehlhafer.

He is survived by: his children, Julie Brouwer (William) of Marshalltown and Jeff Fehlhafer (Susan Moore) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Laura Dosh (Andy), Ben Brouwer, Sarah Espy (Matt), Daniel Brouwer (Emma), Jenn Turner (Andy), Jason Fehlhafer and Marisa Fehlhafer; his great grandchildren, Talia, Malachi, Norah, Collin, Miles, Thomas, Jameson and Evander; and his brother Ronald Fehlhafer of Marion.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.

Thomas Estrada wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry to hear your dad passed away. I just a picture of him on Facebook with family and thought he could use a shave, ha ha. Your dad was my training officer when I got assigned to Post 11. I have many fond memories of working with him and learned a lot of how to be a fair and compassionate Trooper. I'm sorry I won't be there for his funeral service (I am out of state until April), he will be missed.”
