He is survived by: his sister Jan Solem (Dean) of Marion, Iowa; his nieces, Shannon Walshire (Brian) and Kristy Birkey (Shane); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Wyatt Swartzendruber, Allison Birkey, Madelyn Walshire and Ella Walshire.
