It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Kay Wheeland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Lance R. Beck; her parents, Mervin Myers and Ruth Pauline Frondle; her siblings, Ruth Wiegant, Margery Shedenhelm and Mervin Myers; her mother-in-law Clara Bohonek; and her siblings-in-law, Peggy Pahl and James Bohonek.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Wheeland; her children, Kirk Beck (Benita), Lynnette Russell (Stan) and Grant Beck (Susan); her grandchildren, Matthew Beck (Katie), Adrienne Kite (Robert), Darby Beck and Jessica Shirley; her great grandchildren, Harrison and Dalton; and her siblings-in-law, Sandy Nicholson, Wanda Justice (Ival), Lois Hartnett, Marie Johanson (Preston), Dean Wheeland and John Bohonek. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Bever Park Red Oak Pavilion (2700 Bever Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403).
Instead of flowers memorial may be directed to the family.
