He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Grimm and Margaret Grimm (Koza); his wife Frances A. Waterhouse; his son Steve; his grandson Bryce; his stepfather Forrest Davis; his sister Shirley; and his brother-in-law Charles Waterhouse (Mary).

He is survived by: his daughter Debra Hartman (Harlan); his sister Ruby Warren (Robert); and his grandchildren, Shon Grimm (Beth), Matt Grimm (Lisa), Kara Burkhart (Josh), Sarah Lounsberry (Derek), Lee Hartman (Ann), Jeff Grimm (Misty), Scott Grimm and James R. Grimm (Tammy). He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as his cousins, a niece and nephews.
