He was predeceased by: his brother Timothy Mather; his brother-in-law Lenny Cornell; and his parents, Clifford Mather and Eunice Young Mather. He is survived by: his wife Linda Peiffer; his children, Scott Mather (Kristie) of Cedar Rapids and Carrie Rechkemmer (Chris) of Fairbank; his grandchildren, Taylor, Carlie, Grant Mather, Aiden, Jack Jans and Samuel Rechkemmer; his siblings, Clifford Mather (Wendy), Sonja Cornell and LaNell Walrath (Wally); and his pet Junior.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Teahen Funeral Home (3100 F Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Ludmilla Catholic Church.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Ludmilla Catholic Church Building Fund.
