He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Austin and Jennie Bruce (Lane); his siblings, Ronald, Hope, Donald and Robert; his parents-in-law, DeWayne and Niona Bemer; his siblings-in-law, Jim, Chuck, Hester and Richard (Butch); and also Howard Prosser.
He is survived by: his wife Linda M. Bemer; his children, Mary Shramek (Rick), Harold Lee Bruce (Tracy), Beverly James, Jerry Bruce (Kay) and Jennie Fritz (Brian); his grandchildren, Cliff Hedlund (Joanie), Randy Shramek, Crystal Shramek, James Bruce (Maren), Lindsey Reiher (Cody), William James (Alyssa), Kristie Tedrow (JD), Quincy Bruce (Emily), Niona Woodruff (Isaak), AnnaLee Rouse (Phil), Berkley Bruce, Brandon Fritz and Leilani Fritz; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Madison, Alivia, Kaden, Aria, Grayson of Iylah, PJ, Maggie, Hayden, Parker, Paxton and Jaxon; his sister Joyce Rogers; his siblings-in-law, Dianna Ament and Bill Bemer; and his aunt Deloris Bardwell.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brosh Chapel (2121 Bowling St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
