He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Blasen and Joan Blasen (Hutter); his granddaughter Makayla Boleyn; and his father-in-law Raymond Nemec. He is survived by: his wife Alice Nemec; his daughters, Brook Blasen of Cedar Rapids and Stacie Blasen of Chicago, Illinois; his grandchildren, Tate Boleyn of Cedar Rapids and Lincoln Pollmeier of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Julie Sharkey (George) of Casper, Wyoming, Joe Blasen (Carol) of Dubuque, Greg Blasen (Jaime) of Cedar Rapids, Rick Blasen (Judy) of Dubuque, Jay Blasen (Julie) of Dubuque and Chris Blasen (Kristen) of Overland Park, Kansas; his mother-in-law Loretta Nemec of Naperville; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Nemec of Westmont, Allen Nemec (Patti) of Macomb, Illinois and Jennifer Nemec of Chicago. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
