He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Grulke and Charlotte Grulke; his wife Betty; and his children, Darlyn Grulke Sparr and Dennis Grulke.
He is survived by: his children, David Grulke (Linda) of West Allis, Wisconsin and Dawn Grulke Hysler of Cedar Rapids; his daughter-in-law Lisa Forschler of Oskaloosa; his siblings, Kathy of Indiana and Stuart of New York; his grandchildren, Beth Trippie (Don), Joy Mick (Neil), Laurel Grulke, Heather Wild (Seth), Carl Grulke (Kelsey), Lisette Metz Grulke, Jeremy Gruettner, Matthew Grulke, Lane Johnson (Mike), Caleb Grulke (Kelsey) and Luther Grulke (Lauren); and his granddaughter-in-law Betty Severtson. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa, or charity of choice.
