With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elmer John Klein Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Iowa City, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 3, 2024 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Iona V. Klein (Ward); his daughter Julie Barger; his siblings, Delmar, George, Robert, Kenneth and Hazel; and his son-in-law Dale Schroth.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Hollingshead; his children, Jon Klein (Sue), Lynn Schroth, Holly Ouellette (Randy), Wendy Williams, Kim Staub (Rob) and Ty Hansen (Juli); his son-in-law Rick Barger; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Klein and Connie Klein. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.
