He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Black and Jean Black (Fairlie); and his parents-in-law, Don and Agnes Merklin. He is survived by: his wife Joan Black of Cedar Rapids; his sons, Justin, Ryan and Brandon; his sister Celia Goering (Bob); and his nephew Brian of Chariton. He is also survived by spouses, six grandchildren.
