David left this world on December 8, 2024 at the age of 69, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Taylor and Donna Taylor (Baker); his siblings, Denette Schmidt and Donnie Taylor (Thomasine); and his parents-in-law, John "Jack" and Joann Messerich.
He is survived by: his wife Annette Messerich; his children, Eric Taylor (Maryann) of Austin, Lynn Taylor of Centennial, Casey Taylor (Sarah) of Maquoketa, Ryan Taylor of Swisher, Iowa, Alison Taylor of Swisher, Iowa and Kelsey Taylor of Swisher, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ariel, Jennifer, Sterling of Carter, T. J., Jayla and Skylar; his great grandchildren, Raelyn, James, Nathan and Josiah; his siblings, Darlene Strohbehn (Bruce) and Darren Taylor; and his pets, Ruby and Creed. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Ludmilas Catholic Church (211 21st Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
