It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Gerald Gillaspie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Gerald and Mary Belle Gillaspie (Turner). He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Marvel (David) of Canton, IL, Michael Gillaspie (Janis) of Vinton and Joyce Thompson (Douglas) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Jonathan Marvel (Bethany), Jessica Belitz, Nathan Gillaspie, Adam Thompson (Monica) and Amy Heinsius (Dillon); his great grandchildren, Taylor (Natalie), Makyla, Katelyn, Jaxson, Alice, Brennin, Rylee, Ryker, Harper and Liliana; his great great grandchild Jackson; and his siblings, Lela Sherman and John Gillaspie (Beverly).
