He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Shafer and Edwin Penning of Granville; and his sister Deborah. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Sherman; his daughters, Abigail Clemons (Philip) of Marion, Hannah Smith (Justin) of Vinton and Rebekah Penning of LaPorte City; his grandchildren, Isabel, Maxwell, River Clemons, Lincoln and Lucas Smith; and his siblings, Blanche, Denise, Ted, David and Gene.
